For this page, I asked some of my RSD friends to write a short comment or description of their pain. Here is what they said...
"RSD is a deep bone pain, almost like
there is a fire inside my foot. It
is constantly burning."

FABIA
"I think that RSD is evil incarnate. It sounds daft, but it is difficult to describe the pain in a few sentences that make sense!"
FIONA
"RSD is a burning, throbbing pain,
always there, never leaving the body. It is also a sharp, acute pain, jabbing at
any time. It feels like your joints are sun burnt as it is so hot!"
MARIE
"RSD is a world of pain that I would
never wish on my worst enemy. People whine and complain when they break a bone,
but they don't even know the beginning of pain until they have had RSD."
KATE
"RSD feels like lightning bolting
through my foot in severe pain bolts."

STEFANIE
"RSD is living with something that
controls you by means of a torture that even a medieval torture chamber could
not inflict. If someone could give me peace or show me the road to peace, then
maybe I could heal."
ROSIE
"My pain is getting increasingly worse (and I thought it couldn't !). I've spent just about all day here in bed, crying all morning (and I rarely cry because of the pain.) The entire lower half of my body feels like there are thousands of burning hot, on fire needles that are poking, jabbing my skin and going really deep down inside."
LACEY
Thanks to everyone who contributed to
the making of this page. If any kid/teen with RSD would like to express their
pain and give a comment/description, please e-mail RSD Escape.
To lie sleepless with pain at night
or to wake every morning
and feel the return of grief ,
yet to get up and carry on as
best one can is courage itself.
